The seven sayings of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross

Good Friday (also Holy Friday or Great Friday) is a religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary (Golgotha). It is mainly observed by Christians during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum.

Easter Triduum, Holy Triduum, Paschal Triduum, or The Three Days, is the period of three days that begins with the liturgy on the evening of Maundy Thursday (the vigil of Good Friday) and ends with evening prayer on Easter Sunday, the three-day period

Because Easter is a moveable feast (its date depends on the date of the first full moon on or after 21 March) so is the date of Good Friday.

This year, 2017, Good Friday falls on April 14th.

  1. Luke 23:34: Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.

  2. Luke 23:43: Truly, I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise.

  3. John 19:26–27: Woman, behold your son. Behold your mother.

  4. Matthew 27:46 & Mark 15:34 My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?

  5. John 19:28: I thirst.

  6. John 19:29-30: It is finished.

  7. Luke 23:46: Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
